We arrived early and dumped our bags and headed out towards the beach for another boat trip. The scenery was gorgeous, lots of mountainous green islands. One island is a private resort and has its own water park and theme park. To get to it you go by cable car across the water. The water was cold compared to Cambodia but really clear, it's part of the South China Sea. We went to a small fishing island but had to get in small bamboo baskets to reach the shore. I really thought we were going to fall in. We walked round the island and all the kids stopped to say 'hello'. We went to the aquarium and saw all types of local tropical fish. Lunch was on the boat after some swimming and snorkelling. Afterwards we went to lay on the beach, it's a hard life!
That night we made the mistake of going for a few drinks that turned into a few drinks more. Me, Nat, Cat, Yvonne and Huy ended up in a beachside club called the Sailing Club. It was excellent. If you had had enough of dancing then you could go and relax under a palm tree on the beach. Luckily the next day we had nothing planned except for a trip to the mud bath spa in the afternoon. We all sat in big baths full of muddy water for 15 mins, then we baked ourselves dry, showered in mineral water, got sprayed with jets then sat in another bath, this time full of nearly boiling mineral water for 30 mins. It left my skin feeling tingling.
The evening was a bit hectic because Huy got the train times wrong and we had a rush to get to the train station for our next overnight train. We made it on time but this time our train was not so nice. It had a horrible smell of rotting rubbish that travelled down the carridge every time the train stopped and the sheets didn't even look clean. In the end we thought the best thing to do was sleep and ignore it.
