The world is my school and here is what I learned about the Sydney Opera House. The Opera House looks like it is a sailboat. The reason is that the designer wanted it to go with the harbor so he made it look like a sailboat. The designers name is Jorn Utzon. One of the things that I did in the Sydney Opera House is I took a tour that taught me about Jorn Utzon and about the building. Jorn Utzon was Dutch. While he was in the middle of building it the government told him that he was spending too much money and taking too much time and they would not pay him anymore. Jorn Utzon was upset because he was trying hard and it was something that had never been done before. He ended up leaving before it was finished. Sadly, when it got finished by someone else in 1973 (started building it in 1957) Jorn Utzon was not able to see it. He never got to see his masterpiece.
I saw 2 shows in there, Blaze on Mom's birthday and Cat In the Hat.
Fun Fact
The Sydney Opera House uses more metal than the Harbor Bridge.

Gran Gautney Thanks, Olivia! Whenever, I watch the Australian Open, they show pictures of the Opera House but never identified it or told anything about it. It is so impressive and it is interesting to know the back story about its architect. Love, Gran
