Today we woke up early, early, early. Early, early, early is about 5:45 in the morning. After getting dressed and ready to go we went to breakfast for the first time in our new hotel. The breakfast was SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!! There were some western things there that I miss having like pancakes. After breakfast we took the train to the oldest temple in this area where our meditation class is going to be. We arrived at the entrance of the temple after about 5-10 minutes on the train. The entrance was to a bunch of different temples. We found the temple that we were looking for after seeing a bunch of different beautiful temples. The meditation started with 8 people there. There were 3 people that I did not know and the other 5 people were my family and me. The meditation class started with the teacher talking about meditating and he told us what to do. He told us to do different breathing patterns. While we were doing different breathing patterns we were meant to empty our heads. The Reverend rang a bell and we all started meditating. The meditation went on for about 30 minutes then the Reverend rang a bell again to tell us the meditation was done. He showed us around the temple and told us about its history. After that we went back to the meditating room and did some more meditating. Once we were done the Reverend gave us some cookies and water. The meditation was very relaxing, fun, and really weird. I do not know why I felt like that but I did. After eating that and going to the bathroom we were out of the temple. The next stop for us was the bamboo forest. After a 5 minute train ride it was our stop. On the way walking to the bamboo forest we saw people making pancakes and then putting bean paste inside of them. We were starving and decided to try one. They where SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! They tasted like chocolate inside of pancakes. Anyway when we got to the bamboo forest it was just beautiful. The bamboo was SOOOOOOO TALL. They were like skyscrapers. It was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! To get back home we got a Rickshaw ride. A Rickshaw ride is where you are in a small carriage and instead of horses pulling you people pull you. It was torture for me to watch but it was really fun. On the ride the person that was pulling me looked back to make sure we were still there which gave me a funny feeling. They said "good bye," and they stood there and bowed to us until we were gone. That was my day.
Thank you and please comment.

Sharon Savarese Very very interesting!! I am soooooo enjoying your blog entries! Do you think you'll continue to meditate when you get home??
Gran Gautney Thanks, Captain for explaining the meditation lesson. You did really well to meditate for 30 minutes on your first try. Just learning those different breathing patterns is going to help you to relax more when you want to. Thanks for describing the food it sounds delicious! Miss you! Love, Gran
