Friday pm
Lots to tell.
We had many delays today but no one seemed to mind. I was actually happy because my bag finally arrived at the airport and our skipper, Cian was kind enough to drive me to the airport to get it. Going through customs with the Guardia Civil was a bit tense but what a relieve to have my stuff. I felt whole once more!
So we finally got under way about 4pm and a 40 mile sail ahead of us to La Gomera. It started off being little to no wind and calm seas. About 30 miles into it, the wind started picking up and the waves became very rough.
The wind built up to 27 knots with gusts over 30. Worse sailing conditions I have ever been in. It was like that for the rest of the trip.
We didn't get in until about 10pm all exhausted and soaked. After we got the boat docked and secure, Kitty made a simple meal of French bread, ham, and assorted cheeses. It tasted good. We had tea and talked until midnight.
