Day 17:
On January 18th we arrived at Kerry's home in Bailey, Colorado. Bailey is 40 km outside
of Denver. We all had a relaxing day, because we were very tired from driving.
On Monday I did a little math, while everyone else went and got a TON of food for dinner. Kerry invited most of her family over which included their adorable 3 month old Australian Shepard puppy. We ate Ed's famous steak dinner and had lots of laughs.
On Tuesday was the day I have been waiting for. We went do the Denver pro rodeo and stock show. We went to the rodeo to see Ed’s friend’s grandson who tie down roped. It was too bad he missed all three calves. The highlight of the rodeo for me was seeing Fallon Taylor barrel race since she won the NFR.
Between the slack and the Rodeo Performance we went to Golden to Ed’s old high school. We saw Ed and Kerry’s late husband’s football pictures that was hanging in the school hallway. Downtown Golden is beautiful because of the amazing bronze sculptures that are along the sidewalks.
After the rodeo we went to the Stock Show it was very cool since I picked the grand champion cow and won the bet with Ed. Then we went to the trade show, the shopping was so crazy. I couldn’t believe how much stuff there was. I got too overwhelmed and ended up buying nothing!
Today we drove from Bailey to Santa Fe New Mexico. I’ve never seen a Truck have so many icicles hanging off it because of the freezing rain! We checked into our hotel in Santa Fe. At the moment I’m currently catching up on my homework. I’m very grateful that I get my own room tonight so I don’t have to put up with Ed’s snoring. Thank god.

Nanny It is lovely here and has been hovering around zero. For some reason I thought you would be in Belize by now. Big American pro rodeos must be exciting to go to. Good for you for keeping on top of your education. You will be glad you did when you get a better paying job when you leave school. If you finish high school and get some college training then you won't have to be a waitress or a ditch digger. Employers won't even look at prospective employees who haven't graduated, as it shows a lack of stick-with-it-ness and low skill levels. When I went to school you could get a good job after Grade 8. Times have changed.
