Back to the UK and home again
We left on the ferry from Santander in bright warm sunshine. In fact everyone was crowded on the back deck soaking up the last of the afternoon sunshine. Dolphins played in the wake of the ship as the sun set.
Next morning we woke to grey skies, cold temperatures and drizzle. Welcome to England! The cold and rain (remember this is summer…) followed us back to Leeds. We decided to unpack the van completely so that we had the option to sell the van if our family situation at home was going to mean that we wouldn't be returning for some time.
And so back to Sydney. My father's condition was worsening by the day and we were grateful that we had 10 days with him before he died.
