I have been slacking on chronicling, I guess a believable excuse would be something like, we were to busy, or no cell reception. However that's not the case - laziness is really at fault, we have been to at least 5 other campsites and 6 different states since I started writing. Anyway, following hannibal was a drive through Illinois into the forests of Indiana, the states are shorter here, less driving and diversity among the trees, plants, bugs - Missouri was a site to see, but Indiana was a diamond in the rough - palms, hidden lakes, crazy mushrooms, maybe this was my favorite state so far because it was the first time I've seen anything like it despite the fact that ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky are so similar! We camped in Indiana twice, once in Bloomington and once south of Columbus, the forests were dense and the lakes were surrounded by thick trees and bushes as we swam in the lukeWARM water! Indiana was absolutely gorgeous.
