Had a wonderful day today.
Up at 6.30am
Sunny, beautiful day.
Bit nervous about using the Tube for the first time but SO easy...had a very friendly Tube Man show me the way to pay and pointed out the train I had to take.
Got off at Victoria Station...followed all the other people...that place is HUGE...
Would have worked OK if all the other people weren't catching a connecting train.
Backtracked...found the 'Way Out' signs and got up into the daylight.
Walked along Buckingham Palace Road to....you guessed it...Buckingham Palace!
Amazing Tour...absolutely amazing place....saw secret doorways...paintings hundreds and hundreds of years old....marvellous marble sculptures...just amazing.
Funny though, but makes sense when you think how old the palace is.....windows and doors with clip on fly wire....open double doors with long pieces of wood positioned to stop them banging shut....magnificent views out through these doors to the gardens beyond.
I loved it.
Then out for a walk along paths in the garden....beautiful.
Then off to meet Meagan at the statue of Queen Victoria.....
Simone...you know how I hated the female contestants on Big Brother last year, when they would hug and jump up and down and squeal?
Well, Meagan and I did that for a full 2 minutes....well..perhaps we didn't squeal...but we did the jumping up and down thing!
Then off to Hyde Park Corner and the magnificent War Memorial.
Then Serpentine Lake...a shady spot on the lawn.
Leanne...you owe your daughter an apology.....
Meagan produced from her bag.....
A rug
Sandwiches
Dip
Biscuits
Fruit
Cheese
Chocolate
Lollies
2 cans of Diet Coke
And a SPONGE CAKE.
(Just so you know...we skipped the Mr Whippy...we were 2 full.)
Stayed there a couple of hours...fun chatting
Then....onto HARRODS.
Wow!
Had a great time there...
Christmas stuff.
Meagan and I now have matching Christmas Decorations from HARRODS.
Wandered the toy area....wow!
Saw the pet pampering area and all the pet clothes and beds and diamond dog collars....
Then headed to the ice cream bar...
After much soul searching...and deciding I must be coming down with something....I asked Megs for a reincheck till I am back here next.
Got on the tube...much more fun with company...back to my hotel where we discovered all your comments...
Daryl, Mum and Dad...so funny...glad you could read them altogether....poor Daryl...get over here!

I turn on the IPad First thing and it feels SO good to see the emails notifying me of a comment...dropping in...bang bang bang bang.
Greg and Leanne...Meagan was here when we read your comment together about giving Meagan a hug for you...so I did!
Well that's it.
Writing this actually takes quite a bit of time....hope to be able to o it on the tour.
Wake up call 4am....down in the Lobby at 5.30am

Megs Can't believe my own mother didn't think I'd deliver on the picnic front?! I mean- if there's one skill that I've mastered, it's eating in parks! HahaIt was such a lovely day! Sun was shining and life was good! Have the most amazing trip, it's going to be incredible! I can't wait to hear all about it. And if I give you any advice... It's to eat on average 2-3 gelatos a day! There's no shame in that!!! LOVED that we could hang in ye olde London Town! Streets Take London Take 2 was a success!! Pariiiiiiis! Enjoy the crepes, oh and the sights (think I may be too fixated on the food side of travelling... ) Much love! Xxx
