Slept well.
After I rang you Andrew.
So much fun talking to you.
I could picture the 4 of you there.
( It's more fun here! )
So thrilled to have so many emails and comments this morning.
It was lovely to wake up to all your smiling voices!
Hi girls at the front desk... Thrilled you are following along.
Scrambled eggs for breakfast in the beautiful dining room.
Procrastinated leaving the room and getting out into Munich.
( Why do I do that?)
Caught myself and off I went.
Exchanged Hop On Hop Off voucher for a ticket from the lovely lady in blue at the bus stop.
I am now on the top deck, very front seat, ready for the sights!
The canvas roof is over the top deck.
Forecast 22 degrees, some showers and 78% humidity.
Bit hard to work out what to wear...
( It's hard on holidays...)
So I layered.
So many people speak English...
The bus is filling up.
I can hear American voices.
An American lady came and sat in the front seat with me and we chatted.
She was lovely ... From Winsconin.
Off we went.
Wonderful sights.
I know absolutely nothing about Munich so the tour was an eyeopener.
Stayed on the bus for 2 hours.
One and a half times round. Then, as I was close to the hotel, headed back there to eat my stolen lunch.
Hello Emily. I rang you then.
Lovely to talk to you.
It was 9pm your time.
I still had half a day left.
Off again ... This time I walked.
Had to keep the Munich brochure so I get the names right.
Then found the 'surfing' bridge.
See the next entry.
Got so lost on the way back.
This involved several hours you have to understand. It was now nearing 5pm.
Best chance for directions was a shop, I thought .
So into one I went.
Two lovely young men ...
( Where were they when I was 25?)
Had the best fun in there.
' I'm lost.'
' You're on the North Face.'
And away we went from there.
Finally, after much chat, onwards again.
Made it back to the hotel.
Half an hour charging the phone, then down to the Pasta Restaurant I saw last night.
Lovely meal inside. Then noticed outside tables.
Signalled the waitress I was heading out there and here I am in the sun, blogging.
Looked up... And directly across the road, just inside the Railway Station, I can see the Radius Tours Office that I need for the Dachau Tour tomorrow.
I took the long way round when I was investigating yesterday.
So Hotel Winters 50 metres to the left.
Sidewalk Pasta Restaurant here.
Radius Tours directly in front across the road.
I am set.
I'll be here tomorrow night.
OK ... Heading back upstairs to add photos with help of German spelling.
Munich is great!
Don't let strange cities worry you.
They are marvellous!

Amanda Hi CarolynHow did the Doctor jump into your suitcase and where was he in Paris? ;-)He will be upset he has not got a photo spot until Munich! Was he secretly in your Paris photos, lurking incognito in the background......I will have to go back and check!!Is there a prize for guessing the Doctor's appearances this year???Back to Maximillion Street, and echoing Emily, try harder, a little bump and rescue will not hurt anyone for our prize!!Glad you are enjoying Munich, the HOHO bus, river surfing (how amazing and scary - those concrete banks are a little too close for comfort!) and finding the shops, even if accidently on purpose. Love your yellow purse, by the way. Can't wait to hear about your trip to Dachau, it will be a very moving experience. Message for Emily - Happy Happy Birthday. Enjoy Vue de Monde and the Windsor. What an amazing birthday treat, I hope you scored Thursday off work! ;-)
