....At Punta Arenas airport they can't find my ticket for the flight to Puerto Williams ("it was just a booking, not an actual ticket!") but finally they do and they forget about their strict baggage allowance in the process (you are allowed 10kg, I carried 22kg! Yesss!)
...I arrive In Puerto Williams, marvel at the majestic mountains on the horizon and wild crowds around me (what was supposed to be a small twin turbo engine craft turned out to be a regular Boeing Jet)
...I get picked up by Cecilia, the hostel owner, and though her car breaks down 3 times on the way, she gets me to the hostel where I...
...meet Michael and Ingrid, my companions for the trek and many other tourists, some stuck for several weeks here, waiting for a ride to the Antarctica for example...:)

...we finish the first climb of the trail using comfortable bridges, stairs and plank ways conveniently placed there by the government to reach a hill with a huge Chilean flag (Cerro Bandera)..
...and all this time we are followed by three dogs - they have collars so are not stray but they seem to like us; they're friendly but a nuisance on the narrow path;
...the second part of the trail is a traverse of a very steep slope on scree and when we reach the camp area (Lake del Salto) we are quite tired but surprised to see 6 more tents there already, including two French guys who are touring the world on a tandem but didn't bring a sleeping bag for this camping trip...
