After a brief orientation by our director we set out for the evening to discover Korean BBQ in Thailand. Our distention was a shed like structure which housed numerous tables with holes to hold the fire pots. All the meat and vegetables were on tables in the center. Arrived at my hotel about 8:30 this morning. Very nice. A lot like the hotel in Istanbul. After the travel I needed a rest. We did a tour of Chiangmai and ate traditional Ty food at the mall. My fellow classmates are from all over the world. They are mostly American, Canadian, Australian, or British. They serve in many of the counties I am interested in. I am looking forward to the weeks ahead and getting to know everyone.

It has been 33 hours since my journey began. I'm still not there. I am camped out at the airport in Bangkok with 6 hours to finally reach Chiangmai. The trip was from Atlanta to Seattle to Tokyo to bangkok and finally to Chiangmai. At least I got here safely. I find that this part of the world is not as easy to communicate with. My lack of language skills is very evident. My next post will be from Chiangmai.

The journey Begins with wintry wether forecast for Wednesday night. Kathie takes me to an airport holiday inn so The weather will not delay me. My day will begin at 5:30 tomorrow morning. I am excited and nervous. Pray for safe travel.
