DAY 5: CASTLE ‘N’ CRUISE
Woke to grey skies and drizzle this morning. Thankfully our first port of call was right across the street from our hotel - Cardiff Castle.
We got a bit of a scare when we rocked up and saw the ‘closed’ sign on the massive front gates, only to realise the joint didn’t open for another half hour. The body clocks must still be adjusting.
Anyway, when we returned we managed to get through most of the attractions within the castle walls before hundreds of school kids on field trips took over the place.
They had me googling the French translation for “stop pushing in ya little s***s” in no time.
After the castle it was a short walk through the neighbouring park and down to the dock to catch a short river cruise to Cardiff Bay.
I don’t know if it was the weather, being a work day, the construction happening or combination of all three, but the place was pretty dead to be honest.
We still found a good spot for lunch and by mid afternoon we were ready to head back upstream to our hotel.
This arvo the boys did a stroll of the arcades. That’s right - souvenir jersey shopping has begun!
Though he might want to wear his new red coloured purchases as much as he can tonight, cause tomorrow and the next few days it’s all about the green!
‘To be sure’
