DAY 13: ROAD TRIP!
Before we checked out of our hotel today, we headed down to the river front at the end of Broadway to get in some last minute sightseeing.
Come noon though it was time to say goodbye to Nashville and collect our car to begin the road trip portion of our holiday.
It shouldn't come as any surprise but guess what we were greeted with at the hire car counter - A FREE UPGRADE!
I originally just booked a sedan this time round, but as it turned out, "we got a Jeep!"
A couple of spaghetti junctions coming into Memphis, where the GPS hadn't picked up on works and closed exits, provided a few 'recalculating' moments, but for the most part the Nashville > Memphis trip was a straight three hour journey west on highway 40.
We stopped at a diner about halfway along where we were greeted with an all-you-can-eat buffet of fried chicken and lasagne - for just $7.99 a head!
Currently now sitting in our Memphis hotel suite which backs onto the city's entertainment hub of Beale St. What's more impressive is we've discovered the hotel has a laundry! (It's rarer than you think over here)
Fresh socks and jocks for Graceland tomorrow. Elvis will be impressed.
