Craig & Jills Round the World Trip
Yesterday we spent the day walking round Darling harbour, and the central area. The harbour is full of lots of nice restaurants, but we had to do the cheap option. We walked round the shops in the lovely Queen Victoria Market, which is in an old renovated victorian building. The city is huge, and most of it seems new, with shniy skyscrapers. However there is some nice old stone buildings mixed in. Thankfully we are staying in a nice hotel right on the harbour side.
We didnt get to see the Sydney bridge or Opera house until today. This morning we went up the Pylon lookout, one of the bridge supports, which gave us views like the picture above. We also got to see the hoards of tourists climbing the bridge, that will be us tomorrow. The weathers been abit dodgy, mainly coudy, so our photos unfortunetly wont look like above. In the afternoon we took the ferry to Manly, and got to see our first Australian beach. It was quite busy considering the weather. Manly is a surfing hotspot. We went for a paddle in the sea which was lovely and clear and warm. However didnt fancy going in any deeper in case there was any sharks! The ferry ride gave us great views of the city and the opera house.
