Hey everyone!
Alright, I'm an idiot and completely forgot to tell you guys about surfing, it was awesome! I suck at it and got my ass kicked but man, it was still really fun. I think that some of the other people picked it up much better than I did but I still was able to stand up ONCE! That one time just made my day so at least I got that. Good times, now I will never look at a wave the same again and have SOOOO much respect for anyone that surfs. Wow. Too bad I'm moving to Oregon that has cliffs for beaches...
So after a day of kayaking and a day of surfing, I was soooooore! My arms haven't hurt this bad since, I don't even know. Water sports are fun, I like.
Now Fraser Island! What a beautiful place, the resort we stayed at was nice and the day couldn't be any better. A group of us decided to ditch the group and thought that their deal was a rip off, so we just rented our own 4wd and went around ourselves. It was such a bumpy ride but it was a blast!!!! Driving on the beach was awesome and the waves were crazy! No dingoes but we did chill out around a shipwreck and checked out lake mackenzie which was so beautfiul! the water was warm and a royal blue and we decided to walk around it which turned out to be much more of a hike than we expected. we saw a monitor lizard and just enjoyed ourselves, i don't know, good times. i liked fraser island a lot and driving around on our own felt sooo good. i don't like big groups, it's official, so i'm looking forward to meeting a new group when i head over to the outback.
now i'm at airlie beach and will be taking a ferry over to long island. this is where i get to go sailing for a day and check out whitehaven beach, and do the whole skyrail through a rainforest and watch an aboriginal show. should be fun, looking forward to it. the sun has finally come out and hopefully i can bust out my skirts and tank tops and flip flops. i totally did not pack for cold weather so my options for my outfits have been very limited. i want to burn this sweater and my jeans when i get home.
i've met a young couple from kentucky were are engaged and are going to get married in december. i love them, they're so great. they're only 25 and 23, Kathryn McPeek and Tyler Hughes and seeing them together gives me hope for future relationships. They want me to come to their wedding, how funny, I've never been to Kentucky but would totally go just to see them. =)
So much more to talk about but time and money are limited. Take care everyone, love and miss you all as usual! =)
