Aged Travellers
Today we started the last lap of our great adventure, the journey through the Sacred Valley which will evevtualy lead us to Machu Picchu. The lovely weather has at last deserted us. The day started off cool and overcast and this eventually became cold and wet. On the descent down into the valley we stopped at a llama farm which had every variety of llama. This was interesting but it was really only an excuse to have a large shop selling a wide variety of garments made from the wool. From here we dropped right down to the Uribamba River to the town of Pisac where there is a very large market selling mainly goods for the tourist trade Unfortunately for the merchants, it was now raining quite hard so we didn't stay very long We continued along the valley until we came to a very nice restaurant where we had an excellent lunch. We then drove on too another town where there were a series of huge terraces spreading up the mountainside. Even though it was taking quite heavily must of us managed to reach the top. Back to the hotel for a hot shower and meal. Bed very early ready for very early start tomorrow.
