Up early, but initial disappointment as the cable car was still closed, so we started on plan B and caught the bus to the Jewish Museum to see an exhibition on the life of Helen Suzan, a very brave lady. Continuing from yesterday. We went out for a meal at a restaurant serving traditional food and for a starter Joan had a king prawn with smoked salmon, see photo. We followed that with Venison stew, very nice. Today we went on a tour of the city, then we went on a boat ride round the harbour. Another day largely spent on the coach but not as tiring as yesterday. We made a later start which meant longer in bed. We drove initially to Cape Aghulas the most southerly point of Africa and where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans officially meet. Arniston, South Africa
Overnight storm meant overcast skies which were perfect conditions for the long boring coach trip that lay ahead. The landscape on this stretch consisted by and large of scrubland and empty fields with occasional cows and sheep. By the time that we arrived at our final destination, a small fishing village called Arniston, the skies had cleaned and the Sun was shining. After lunch we walked through the village, along the coast and has a paddle in the Indian Ocean....
