In the morning, we packed up and continued north. We stopped at lighthouse. Then Pololu Valley Lookout. We decided to hike down the trail and see the black sand beach. It was beautiful and had a swing and a swampy area. It had a nice view from the top. On the way back to Kona, we took another road that was along the crest of Kohala, which is a dormant volcano. They say not to honk your horn while driving so you don't wake the volcano! We went to our nice motel in Kona and went and ate lunch at the Kona Brewing Co. It was great pizza and of course good beer, but that's a given. Then we rented our kayak for the next day to go to the Cook Island Monument. We took the kayak back to the motel and tried it out in the harbor. Brandon was trying to convince me that it was a good idea to take the kayak out at night and bring it to where the motel shines a light in the water
