Arrived in Delhi this morning on Emirates business class. We both slept well on the plane and enjoyed our only "larnie" leg, cattle class for the rest of the trip.
Driving from the airport to the hotel was interesting. The concept of keeping in your lane is obviously taken more as a suggestion than a rule here. Indicators are ignored and hooting is a way if life.
Our hotel Leela Palace is really, really luxurious. Every aspect of it is designed to spoil. There are fresh flowers everywhere and hundreds upon hundreds of roses in displays all over the hotel and restaurant. There are 4 restaurants, a French/Italian, a Japanese, an Indian and an International restaurant. We had Indian food at the international restaurant and it was mind blowing. The food was excellent and service brilliant.
We went for nightcap at the "Library Bar". Limoncello's then tea.
We have booked a tour guide for tomorrow and are getting the hotel chauffeur to drive us around.
We are pretty pooped so it is bed time.
