Cuba - More than old cars
Weather: 27º C and high cloud (good driving weather)
Mileage: 465 Km; Total 3,695 kms
For the last 45 minutes of this trip all we saw were olive groves for as far as the eye could see – would have literally been millions of trees. Never seen anything like it. This would even put the pine tree forests through Tokoroa and Putaruru to shame.
Apart from that not much to say about today. Billy just had to follow a straight road and access to the hotel was straight forward. We are right across the road from the Alhambra which is what we came to see. Will tell you more about this tomorrow but for now just to say it is the most popular tourist attraction (local and overseas tourists) in Spain and one of the most popular in all of Europe. Our expectations for tomorrow are high.
Our hotel is fine. When we made the booking in NZ we requested a “room with a view” as some people on Trip Advisor had mentioned what they had as views and they were not flash. When we booked in the desk clerk mentioned that we had a good view – must have been the comment lodged against our booking – good. And our view was…….yet another olive grove, with a little bit of the Alhambra off to the right. We are not complaining as we have a little balcony. just large enough to put our suitcases on if we need to. The room however is a very good size so we won’t be doing that.
Off to see if we can connect to the internet (first time this has been a problem) and to have something to eat.
