Douglas Brown's Travels
We are staying ate the More Hotel and it is simply luxury. I have a room at the very top of the hotel and the view from my window is simply stunning. After breakfast this morning I caught the local number 6 bus into the city and climbed the stairs and walked the city wall. The wall formed the major sea defence for Dubrovnic from foreign sea born invaders. It is a very old city and many of the buildings are 2500 years old or more. The original city infrastructure and planning was done by the Romans during their occupancy of the city. Unfortunately my walk of the wall was marred by heavy rain and several pushy tour groups from a cruise ship. At the end of the walk I descended soaking wet and very hungry, so I found a local cafe and ordered Wiener Schnitzel . I then caught the bus back to my hotel and enjoyed a relaxing hour in the spa bath. A shot from our bus of a roadside drain erupting like a water spout as the water flow from the high ground pressurised the low lying drainage system. The water was 200mm deep running across the road and round-a-bouts looked like ornamental fish ponds
