Happy Taranaki Day!!
Wow, nearly 6 months in & I've just found this great way to tell everyone our adventure updates!!
Things have suddenly gotten really busy & I'm inundated with part-time work. Relief teaching at Coastal Taranaki School, After hours art classes, tutoring, house keeping and my own gallery of art... phew! Now I've got to get organised & do some planning.
Tom, Nick & I have found ourselves a house to rent In Oakura & we move in next Saturday. We now have to scroll TradeMe (NZ e-bay equivalent) and the Friday bargains to get a fridge, beds & sofa. I'm so excited to get our own space away from all the FNG's at the Wavehaven. As lovely as it is, there's only so much socialising, emptying of the dishwasher and communal cooking I can handle.
Nick is still busy building Dirk's house & spending his weekends working on Al's & Viv's houses (to pay our rent & medicals off!) so I'm left to paint & be creative!
The surf hasn't been fantastic and pessamistic Nick has kept missing it when it's been better than average. Lets hope something picks up soon otherwise the boys are going to get edgy and angry!
The weather is still pretty fantastic and I'm still peeling from a few weeks ago when we got to house sit in Okato...a secluded garden is dangerous when it comes to sensitive sunburn!? At about 24 degrees it still seems odd that the clocks go back next week and all the shops are kitted out for Autumn already.
Well, better get on with some art work as Danger will be barking orders if I don't fill his walls this week! Until next time.....
