Hey Hey Hey!
Another little bit of reading for you all...
Last time I wrote we were in Salvador Bahia for Carnival. Turns out Brasilians are MENTAL and dance 21 hours a day, 6 days a week during Carnival. Holly and I rented this apartment and the music would shut off at 6-9am, so we would have to get our 3 hours of sleep in then, and then carry on. Hard Life.
So one night we were out and met some other gringos who lived in a hostel down the way from us. We went there for the evening and met two lovely English girls, Zahra and Lily, and all got on really well. We decided to move into their hostel so we packed our bags and moved a few hundred metres down the road to stay in the hostel after carnival had finished. Salvador was baking hot so we hit the beach every day and didnt do much else, really. The four of us (us and the other 2 girls) booked flights to Rio togther for the 22nd of Feb and flew down there where we spent 9 days in the pissing rain, trying deperately to get to see Corcovado and SugarLoaf, which we did manage in the end! As you wil see, Sugar Loaf was so cloudy we could see nothing (except the tiny little monkeys that sat in our hands and ate crackers from us).
We also met up with our mate Gervase from Peru which was cool, and visited a couple of favelas which were pretty intense. So then the four of us decided we could not be seperated again, and so we gt the 18 hour bus from Rio down to a little island off the mainland of a town called Florianopolis which is down south and very much reminds me of being in Devon. Partly because there are only about 8 people that live here and also becuase it has again rained for pretyt much the entire time we´ve been here. Nevertheless, we have had a laugh and today we are off to go Kayaking and maybe get a tattoo. (I´m joking, please dont cry mum...).
So... The day after tomorrow we will get the bus down to Iguazu and then head down to BA!!! Yay!
That´s all for now.
P.S We are all fine after the earthequake and everything, but thanks all for your emails.. There were no tremors here :)
