Fishing for Pirhanas in my pajamas
I just wrote all this out and lost it so this is gona be brief coz ive got the hump (",)
As previously stated the boys didnt make it the day we planned so the boys and i hired motorbikes and cruised around town, then fell asleep in the hammocks while reading and we did dinner. We saw bugs the size of goszilla and called it a night.
The boys met us at our hostal we had pancakes for brekkie and took off on a 3 huor jeep journey to the middle of nowhere. We got onto a "tailboat" travelled another 3 hours down the river to our accom which was a cabin resort. On the way down the river we saw pink dolphins, lots of aligators and monkeys.
Day 2 we went hunting for anacondas. We hiked in the blistering heat for 4 hours finding no snakes. The guide didnt want to dissapoint us so kept searching. I was getting more irritated by the minute, it was far to hot and the bugs were eating me by chunks. Ben hadnt been very well for days and it looked like he was gona pass out at any moment. Finally we decided to call it a day. On the way back we found a snake. The boys chased it because they wanted to catch it (IDIOTS!!!) lukily they couldnt keep up and lost the snake. They did run through a hornets nest and get raped...not funny but thatl teach em lol.
In the afternoon we went swimming with the pink river dolphins. The dolphins didnt want to play much but we had fun. I was more worried about the feeling of the mud then the fact that the water was infested with aligators and pirahanas. Only in Bolivia lol. The boys call everything one/thing in Bolivia Pedro. Latest victim was a Ciamen (Giant aligator) who was sitting on the side watching up for a while. He decided to come play....ive never seen the boys move so fast.
In the PM our guide took us to a diff resort. We played football...Bolivia vs The rest of the world (Eng,kiwi and Canadians). The bolivians won but we played a good game. I nearly scored.... i hate football but was fun running up and down the pitch pretending to be helpful lol.
On the way back to our resort we went aligator hunting in the dark. If you shine a torch their eyes light up, actually easier to spot them in the dark. However you got raped by bugs if you had a torch on so in the end we turned them off and stared at the stars.....beautiful. Even more so as we were all fairly high at this point. Naughty Naughty.
The last day....i had zero clean clothes so i wore my PJ´s to go piranha fishing. Im in the middle of the jungle with no1 to impress who gives a crap?? Now...fishing... to me is as pointless as golf or paris hilton. But...i had fun. I caught the most fish, the boys got fed up and at one point Steve threw his net and announced he hates fishing. It so fun to see the boys strop. So at the end of our session we had about 9 piranhas. We went back and BBQ´d them. Rude not to try them considering a big thing on my travel "to do list" was to catch and eat dinner. Not much meat on them as they are tiny but tasted like pork. I liked it.
We left that afternoon back for Ruinbaque. I was praying we´d be back in time so i could get to bank as id borrowed money off the boys. Thankfully we did...however my card wasnt where it should have been. Lost...i can only assume i left it in cashpoint in LaPaz. f***....i was close to tears and freaking out. No money AND in debt...not a good feeling. After ripping my back apart i decided to get a grib. Instead of stropping... what am i gona do about it?!?! I hid travellers cheques in my back so lukily could change them....not just a pretty face ppl. This gives me enough money to get to Cuzco in Peru where im gona transfer money into Leannes account and take aload out. New card being sent to a friend in New Zealand. A s*** situation but not the end of the world.
The bus from RB to LaPaz was a mission. I sat on a bus for 23 hours. The first 6 hours was horrible. Im sparing no details here so be warned!!! It was so hot and sticky i mustve soaked my clothes through at least 3 times. There was nothing i could do it was awful. I can handle the heat... i love the heat but omg!! I took 2 sleeping tablets...slept ok (cramp everywhere but i got a gd few hours) woke up in snow capped mountains in minus degress. My poor body didnt know what to think, i was FREEZING!!! Shortly after waking we arrived in LaPaz....my bag was soaked. EVERYTHING. We hit floads on the moutain roads and the water leaked through the luggage compartment. I arrived at the laundry thismorning with my whole bag....costing me money i cant afford to spend!
My flights from Lima to Santiago have been cancalled and i think i maybe flying to NZ on 9th dec. Wanted the 22nd but it was all booked up.
Needless to say after leaving the boys yesterday, losing my card and having no clothes im feeling a tad blue!!!! But...il snap out of it. Tonight im going clubbing with a group who were on the jungle tour (ive seen them the last 3 places ive been) and Nate and Ben are about somewhere to so hopefully il see my 2 fav Canadians. Tomorrow i head to Lake Titicaca for the day then a night bus crossing the border to Cusco Peru. Start Inca to Machu piccu on monday. Will poss be out on contact for at least a week.
