Brian's Adventures
The tranquility of the Cooks is a big change from the cities of USA...but a good change! The whole week on the Cooks was just maximum chill out, recharging after america. First 2 days I was on the north west of Rarotonga where the highlight was an all-u-can eat indian night (not to say everything else wasn't nice but I didn't do much apart from lying on the beach). The 2nd day was a complete wash out. The Cooks were getting the tail end of the cyclone in Australia so not good and not confident of my flight to Aitutaki (a small old style propellar plane)
Anyway, it was off to Aitutaki, tropical lagoon to the north of Raro, where I was meeting up with Gary again. This place was complete paradise, more so than Raro. The only downfall was that it was full of people on their honeymoon...then there was me & Gary! Our accommodation was right on the beach so you could just step out and go for a morning swim in the sea...not that we ever did. Although it was quiet, it was enjoyable, buzzing around the island on a moped, kayaking around the islands within the lagoon and having the best burgers (gotta try pineapple on a burger) at Mamma Joe's
Back to Raro for the last 3 days this time on the south east of the island. The weather still wasn't great, sun was out but really windy (which was good in a way as we didn't sweat our butts off). Met 2 really nice english girls (jess & jess) that kept us entertained. There wasn't much to do at nights so we had to resort to playing hide & seek...all good fun. They had been to Fiji so were telling us all about it, making us look forward to it even more!
