There was one thing we forgot to mention about getting into the United States. When we got to the Jetstar check in desk the lady told us we couldn't fly without proof that we were going to leave. I told her that our parents would kill us if we stayed, and we had a flight booked in Mexico. "No no no, you must leave America but not to a neighbouring country." So we said "We are travelling to Belize". "Where's Tobelize?" She mumbled. "It's a Central America country beside Mexico. We're going to travel south for the next 3 months, is that OK". "No." Came the reply. s***!
So we had to book a return flight to Sydney, fortunately we managed to get a fully refundable ticket which we promptly cancelled as soon as we passed immigration into the States. Problem solved.
In San Diego we hired bikes for a day and cycled to Ocean Beach along San Diego Bay and San Diego River. Kim's highlight was the "Dog Beach", where loads of dogs were chilling out. It was like a catwalk, (or dogwalk) for a potential dog when we get home!
As we are spending some Aussie dollars and it being soo strong we couldn't avoid making a few purchases. So we had a day at Fashion Valley, where Kim revamped her entire contents of her rucksack. And I, well I got a whole new rucksack. My sack was about 15 years old and was starting to show signs of old age, so in with the new.
We also spent the evening with a couple (Andrea and Ben) we had met in Fiji, it was good to catch up and be shown a few different spots in the city. We may have sowed some seeds for their future holidays and that back yard might have to be put off for another few years.
Our last day was spent in Sea World, watching the various shows which were amazing, especially the Killer Whale. (See the video for an idea). We had seen in the news about a Killer Whale killing its trainer in one of these shows, fortunately now the trainers stay firmly on land.
