Fortunately the bus trip from Potosi to Sucre was on a semi paved road and wasn`t too long. We were pleasantly surprised with the city. Not too big, clean, all white colonial buildings and a few good bars.
We arranged a cycle for 14 of us to do. It was supposed to be 70% downhill, but there was some miss understanding with the lingo and it turned out to be 70% uphill. The majority were`t impressed, but Colin and i struggled on. The finish was downhill to a reserve and a huge aquaduct with some waterfalls. Mother nature (or "Paccha Mama" to the locals) created a storm so the river rose and we were stuck in the reserve for 3 hours. What could we do but sample some Bolivan vino and wait for the river to subside! Some weren´t impressed, but Colin and i struggled on.
The following day was supposed to be a 40min flight to Santa Cruz the largest city in Bolivia. But Paccha Mama again raised her head and brought in the fog, cancelling all 3 flights. So we had to take a 15 hour bus there (you must realise this travelling aint all glamorous).
In Sanat Cruz we went to a Steak house which barbequed every single part of the cow, even the udder!! From here we got a 13hour train, crossing the border into Brazil and heading for the Panatanal.
