So we get up and leave camp around 7.30am and start the trek back to Darwin. Head south to Pine Camp and then head north on the Stuart Highway. A few k's south of Kakadu we saw a few buffalo that were really close to the road. Honestly that was about the highlight of the drive.
So we get into Darwin around noon and first thing we do is find a laundromat and do all our washing. While that was happening we cleaned out the van and sorted out our bags. Then we found a car wash and washed the outside. Headed back to Darwin CBD, did a few things and then dropped the car off. The mighty Delica had performed with flying colours - was a bit sad to see the old girl go.
Then off to the Airport, check in and find a bar. Fkn Qantas Club wasn't open - WTF. Re-connected with the world as we had phone reception now. Stocked up on duty free alcohol and then boarded. First half of the flight pretty good, however we were in the first of the exit rows so the seats don't recline. Second half of the flight was reasonably rough due to a typhoon in the south of the Philippines.
So we land at about 10pm, get through customs and immigration and find our driver who was waiting out the front. Battle with the city traffic and finally get to our apartment at around 11pm. Although we were both wrecked we found it pretty hard to sleep - both really excited about the next few years
