This morning we were off on the Avon Valley Railway which was only about 25mins from Sue's. It was an hour ride, but it went about 10 mins in one direction, then the engine ran around, then back through the starting station & 10mins the other direction before running around again. It wasn't a bad little train journey & both Harry and Sean enjoyed themselves :-) It was time for lunch so we drove to a pub nearby which sat next to a small lock & weir on the River Avon. I ordered a jacket potato which was massive & covered in a very chunky chilli con Carne. Our next stop was Bath for a very quick visit of the main sights. We travelled in on the Park & Ride bus & then walked up towards the Roman Baths & the cathedral then on to the stone bridge with shops built across the top of it & finally up towards the Grand and then Royal Crescents. Every time I come to Bath I feel like I have been transported into a Jane Austen book, although as much as I picture myself in a fancy dress with a parasol looking for Mr Darcy no doubt I would have been working as a maid or some similar low level roll. Back on the park & ride bus to the car we next head to Sue's parent's house for a short catch up & a very British afternoon tea with carrot cake. Finally we returned to Sue's to put washing on & have dinner with a variety of British beers we picked up from the supermarket including one called the Reverend James. It was a relaxed evening after a busy day exploring around Bristol.
