Last night I arrived in Lagos, which is about 4 hours south of Lisbon by bus. The beaches here are amazing. I spent today dividing my time between the main beach near the marina which stretches just over a kilometer long, and some of the other smaller beaches that form below the cliffs. There's probably a dozen or so, all only about 50-100m long and they're sort of fenced in by these dramatic towering rock faces. You can pretty much just walk from one to the next, some of the best ones I found were completely empty. I even found some that could only be reached by climbing through these mini caves.
Tomorrow I think I might get the bus to nearby Sagres which is basically the South Western tip of Europe; the beaches are meant to be awesome. I really love not having any fixed itinerary beyond tomorrow. As I write this I'm still deciding where to go next. Should I head back to the cities, or should I stick to the coast, the beaches...Ah whatever, I'll work it out later
