Day 5
Woke up early this morning to a misty start over the Pacific coast at Pismo Beach. Had a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast before walking into town with Chris & Mum for a bit of retail therapy. I got a new sweatshirt with a ‘Monster’ logo on it and Chris had to buy a sweatshirt because he didn’t pack one before he left the UK, Mum bought a sweatshirt because Chris was paying! Mum also bought a wine glass, she says that she needs one because it is rude to drink straight from the bottle! After walking around the shops for a while we had to get back in time to disconnect the RV from the water and electricity before checking out at lunchtime. Our journey today is to Valencia Travel Village in Castaic about forty miles outside of Los Angeles. We are staying there because it is close to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbour which we will be visiting over the next few days, I am really excited because they have some of the biggest and fastest rollercoasters in the world there.
Our journey took about four hours, most of it was on Highway 101 which took us south through Ventura and Santa Barbara, which have great beaches and lots of surfers, and then east to Castaic. As we drove the temperature got hotter and hotter and was just into the hundreds by the time we arrived. When we got there I managed to be in the swimming pool within about twenty minutes while Chris sorted out the RV and Mum sorted out my laundry as I needed somewhere to sleep and clean clothes!! I finally allowed them both to join me in the pool once they had completed all of their chores.
Chris redeemed himself this evening and managed to cook some food on the barbecue. I played on the swings before dinner for a little while, doing a cool 360 twist trick I learned. I finally went to bed looking forward to an action packed tomorrow.......
