Brenton Kovacs's Travels
13th
After packing my bag its time to leave Tromso and take the bus to the Airport. Checkin is easy and i go to the gate for boarding. Our plane has been delayed due to weather.
Now i have allowed 3 hours in Oslo for my connecting flight to Stavanger, in case there are delays. Well as we are waiting for the plane a snow storm hits the airport. Its so bad you cannot see any planes out of the window. It blows over after half an hour. Now i watch all the ground crew start clearing the runway. More delays.
Our plane finally lands, then we get hit again by another snow storm. We finally leave after 2.5 hour delay.
We land in Oslo and i have to grab my bag and re-check in. I make it with minutes to spare. The flight to Stavanger is only 50 minutes, so by the time the crew have served up tea and coffee its time to land.
Walk out of the airport and jump on board the Flybussen bus. Its the fast and easy way to get to and from the airport. Its lightly raining, but the bus is nice and warm.
I arrive at the hotel, check in and head straight out for some food. End up having some really good fish and chips.

Today is cool but the skies are blue. A perfect day for a cruise to the Fjords and to see Pulpit Rock. The scenery is ok, but after having seen Milford Sound in New Zealand, this is not as spectacular.
We finally arrive at the base of the Pulpit Rock. You can read more about it here

Next stop is a waterfall, where the boat gets right under it so they can catch some water for everyone to taste. Its very cold, but refreshing.
We arrive back just after 3pm and i walk around the old town. Its cobblestone streets and old buildings make for a memorable walk.

Today i want to see the 3 swords. They are about 6 kilometres away, so i think i will take the bus. Well after waiting nearly an hour and no bus,i decide to walk there. Its a beautiful blue sky day, a little on the cool side. After finding out the directions on my phone, the walk begins. Takes me about an hour to get there. The swords are pretty impressive and i am not alone. There are others here looking at the swords.
The round trip is just over 12 kilometres, and was a great walk. I will sleep well tonight.

My luck with the weather ran out today. Its raining. So what a good day to take the bus to Sandnes to see this little town about 15 kilometres away, and stop off at Kvadrats shopping mall. I certainly was not going to walk any distance in the rain.
Sandnes is a very quiet little town, hardly anybody in the main pedestrian street. I suppose they will all be at the shopping mall at Kvadrats.
The mall is ok, nothing special. I head back to the hotel to write this blog. Now its time to get some food, feeling hungry.
Tomorrow i am off to Oslo.
