The train from Beijing was an experience，the bed didnt leave much room for manouevre and I‘m really not a fan of squat hole toilets。 Despite this we reached Shanghai unscathed and we were delighted to arrive at a lovely hotel which exceeded our expections！

Once we had settled in we took a walk along Part of the Bund and then headed down the Nanjing Rd for a bit of western style shopping and a couple of scoops of Hagen Dasz。

In the evening we went to see the acrobatic show， a variety of displays made for an enjoyable evening。 The highlight of the show had to be the motorcycle ball of death，we couldnt believe that five motorbikes fitted in to such a tiny space。

After the show we went for dinner and as it was one of the groups birthday Frank managed to get hold of a fantastic fruity cake, as you would expect Sandy ate about half of the cake whilst everybody else struggled to eat a single slice!!
