Well after the excitement of seeing the whales (about 10 all up in the end) in action off of Fraser island it was a quick 2 hour drive down the coast to increasing signs of urbanisation and roadside notices saying Brisbane is not far away and we arrived at Noosa. This is the first time in our entire trip we could not get into the caravan park we wanted to (right on the Noosa River) but had to settle for what is in fact a very nice site in Tewantin some 7 or 8 km's further out from town
Noosa for those who do not know it is a naturally beautiful place on a river that leads to a very nice beach. There is an elevated backdrop that provides for great views of the area. It is a playground for some of the better healed southerners who either retire here or spend several months here in winter as the climate is very pleasant. It therefore has the shops and hotels to go with that and is quite crowded and busy
We can tell we are getting further south however and for the first time for 2 months last night had to have a quick burst of the heater in the van as it got a bit chilly. The days however are glorious, wall to wall blue sky and about 25c with little wind. Just perfect
As it is Sunday today there is an argument that we should do nothing else other than go to the beach, have a long lunch at a place with a view then finish it off with a drink watching the sun set. Any objections ?. Good its a done deal
PS If some of you dropped of the radar for a while for some reason this web sites update email list decided to change itself and delete some of you (particulaly anyone with a Hotmail account). I have re set it so hopefully it is working again
