Week one of the epic adventure
During our first week, we managed to fill our days, and nights, with lots of funfilled activities icluding seeing the Opera house and Haarbour Bridge on repeated occasions!
No but really the week was wicked, we had a great guide, Trent, who told us loads of really pointless information, but also some pretty cool stuff that meant we could die knowing our life was more fulfilled knowing the information!
We walked, a lot! And then walked some more! Around the Botanical gardens, along a really pretty costal walk from Bondi to Coogee, spotting the tramps house in the cliffs (that one's for you Jo), and around the Blue Mountains, spotting the 3 sisters!
And we travelled by ferry to Darling Habour to the Aquarium, around the harbour on a jet boat ride that ensured we got off to a wet start to out trip and on the Party bus for one of the worst/shorest pub crawls we have ever encountered! When does a pub crawl invlove four, yes FOUR, pubs??
Oh and then there was the weather, quite nice and sunny the days we didn't have much to do, and then the day we might have wanted ok weather, what do we get? But only the biggest bloody sand storm Australia has seen in 70 bloody years!!! And while the news said civilians were advised to stay indoors, what were the Ozintro group doing? Thats right we were learning to SURF! The last time I checked that involves not only being outside but also on the beach where the wind blew sand at us at about 1000mph! Not impressed!
And for our farewell meal, to say goodbye to our fellow travellers and guide, we went to the Sydney Tower, a cool restaurant with some wicked views (except for the bridge and the opera house cos they were hidden behind some tall buildings) and some pretty cool food. We devoured crab, oysters, prawns, calamari and most imprortantly we ate KANGAROO! Yep thats right we had a Skippy steak! What the best end to a great week!
