Hey Everyone!

So, we made it here and the road trip begun pretty much straight away on Sunday 16th. In the morning we met up with the others on the trip, who are all awesomely interesting people.. Few Brits, Australians, Swedish and even one Korean guy (very funny). Our 'Leader' Matt is so cool too, he's so knowlegable and fun.. it's just like being with a bunch of friends i've known forever.

I am loving America way more than i expected, it's so diverse. Each State is completely different, as soon as you cross a border you notice the changes. My unfair sterotype of Americans that i had before i came has been abandoned, i have NOT met one arrogant/rude person, everybody is so friendly and welcoming, the service is fantastic (mainly because their wage is made up of tips).

The food quantities are crazy..eg Boxes of 48 Poptarts. The supermarkets are massive and in general portions etc are much bigger and way cheaper! I am not having any trouble getting fat!

Surpriginly i am loving camping, especially when there is a storm. There is something really exciting about eating, sleeping outside all the time. Sash and I are very quick at putting up/down the tent now too.. although its not as much fun in the rain or at 5am!

The past two weeks have gone something like this:

Day 1,2,3 - We travelled through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, Virgina, North Carolina, South Carolina. We explored Washington which is a really nice city, as far as cities go. There is so much to see as there's just so much history there. I went to see where my friend Obama lives/works, Obolysk, Pentagon, Arlington Cemetery (Crazily massive), JK & Lincoln Memorials, National history museum etc etc.

Day 4,5 -Charlston- is also a beautiful town with loads of charm and character (reminded me of France). A few of us walked around their University which was interesting. On Thursday we stayed at Matt's summer house just outside of Charlston, it's in this beautiful resort, one of the nicest places i've ever been too! We hired bikes and just rode around the resort trying to spot Alligators, which we found loads! Its very surreal (to me) because they just hang out by the lakes, 10 meters from the houses! I also found a Copperback snake pretty quickly. We went to the beach in the evening and spotted some sharks swimming very shallow, and for about an hour they were feeding/jumping out right in front of us.

Day 6- Miami- Miami was cool but a little disapointing if im honest. Its a very rich city which shows alot!

Day 7- Miami- We went to a swamp park on the Edge of the Everglades. The highlight was definitely going on a overcraft boat through the swamp because it was so weird, kind of felt like i was just floating. Again i saw loads of Alligators (some huge) and also more snakes, Very big Pythons.

Day 8- Key West - We stopped at the Southern most point of US, which is also only 90 miles from Cuba! We spent our free day out on this big Catamaran, it took us out to a reef where we wnt snorkelling, i saw loads of fish, Jellyfish and a barracuda. Some people saw a shark too. We then stopped on this pontoon of huge water toys, kayaks, jet skis etc, We Parasailed off the back of a speedboat.. I loved being so high with such an amazing view! The best part of the day was definitely jet skiing, we were racing until we spotted a big pod of dolphins, i turned off the engine and they startes playing around us, came within a metre, and one even dived right under my ski!! This was by far my favourite day so far, and something i will never foget!
