We are now in God's Own Country, no not Heaven - Kerala. It's easy to see why it got this name - it's a Tropical Paradise, with Beaches, backwaters & lush greenery. However, it's not quite heaven at the mo, as it has rained for the last few days, which is never fun at the beach. I'm praying that the sun will come out tomorrow (well, it worked for Annie)
So we arrived here via Hyderabad where we stayed with Vish's Auntie & Cousin, so had a nice bit of family time. It was nice to escape the traveller circuit for a bit and have a few nice home comforts. Hyderabad is a v.modern city full of Malls & lots of bright lights & Outdoor advertising. I also got my first Sari here, which is absolutely beautiful & so Bollywood Glamour - it's at the tailors at the mo, but I'm v.excited to wear it, although I'm not too sure when this might be as its not exactly the kind of thing I can wear down the pub! I need the Prince to invite me to a Royal Function - perhaps his coming out party?
Despite the rain, Kerala is pretty cool - we chartered a private houseboat & did an overnight tour of the backwaters, which was a must do experience - the waters are beautiful & its so peacful floating around in a little riceboat. We got to Varkala Beach yday where we met up with some mates from London (Mel & Kate) so yesterday was spent in a bar sheltering from the rain & drinking rum, which was fun! There is now a full on storm, so today will probably be spent doing much of the same! Jessie girl is also arriving tomorrow & its her birthday too so I really hope its sunny for her!
Right, I'm off for a rum & coke as I fear the Monsoon has started!
