Three days in Robe were rather boring as the weather turned cold. The day we left was lovely and warm!...we had a long drive ahead....too long perhaps in hindsight.
We did a stop at Southend and walked this empty beach....collected some amazing pretty colored " escargot" shells for little Thomas.
We left Southern Australia and its huge sheep and cattle stations, and entered Victoria, driving along huge eucalyptus forest we were blessed to have a koala cross the road ahead, lucky it was us and not one of those road train lorrys that were belting along loaded with logs....we stopped and the rather fat chap walked past me as if I didn't exist and climbed a tree in slow motion. Minutes later an emu rushed out of the thick Bush , zig zagged all over the place ...spied us .... looked horrified and darted into from whence he came....the rest of the journey was being overtaken by speeding road trains ...they are 36 meters long...rather scary. Clearly I underestimated the journey and tom was really tired driving...it was hot....then the map and signposts let us down once we left the main road .......we hadn't a clue where we were going....eventually we got to Cape bridgewater....Australia at its best , a remote bay with a stunning beach.....we rented a house on stilts by the beach.....three days of beach time.....
