So after a sad farewell to San Marino and a last football game, we headed back to Italy to drive through pouring rain to Ancona and a hypermarket for one last telling off about not using the plastic bags in the fruit and veg aisle before frantically dashing across town to check in for our ferry on time.... only to sit in Bob for over 2 hours on the port side as we watched lorries reversing on board and wondered if they would be able to squeeze us in. Drove from Pisa to Florence and was great to pay no tolls like in France. The only downside being there is no money to improve the roads so was a very bumpy journey! With rain and heavy winds forecast we couldn't decide whether to go hide in the museums of Florence or head to the beach and keep our fingers crossed.
