So we arrived in LA on the 30th Jan- just!!!When we arrived at New York airport they nicely told us how Bobski wasnt booked on the flight at all!! Our hearts started to race and after waiting 2 hours (good job we arrived early) STA Travel finally sorted it for us!!! Great!!!!!We flew with American Airlines to LA which took about 6 hours- and we didnt even get any food or drink on the flight!the cheek! We didnt even have to show our passports at the other end and we were straight through into the warmer climate of LA. We arrived at the Orbit Hostel on Melrose Avenue and were straight into our room- so different to New York! We had a lovely big bed and a bath- i was soooooo happy!!! We had a quick walk round for something to eat but couldnt find anything- not like New York- its all about the shopping here!So we ordered some pizza with the guys in the hostel. Vicky Bryson you would love the shopping here lol! And the fanny pack picture was just for you!!! Can you believe that the cupcake shop opposite us sells...wait for it.... NO FAT NO CARBS NO SUGAR cakes- WTF!!!!
We dont have long in LA and were quite stuck at what to do- getting around isnt very easy here and we are quite far away from everything. We caught our first bus (driver didnt like us coz we had no idea!) and headed to Hollywood Boulevard. Lots of sales men were trying to sell us bus tours but we knew which one we wanted- one guy even grabbed the leaflet out of my hand and shouted 'O F off whats the matter with you' people here seem so lovely ;-) We did a bus tour up to Beverley Hills, Bel Air, Rodeo Drive and Sunset strip. We saw all the famous nightclubs, houses (Madonna, J-LO, Posh & becks, Cruises, Robbie Williams etc etc) and lots lots more!! The money up in Beverley Hills is breath taking! We also saw Micheal Jacksons house that he died in- people still outside putting flowers etc. People are really weird in LA- we saw this guy that finds a shop window so he can see himself and everyday he just dances- hhmmmm!!We explored Hollywood Boulevard- its not that great- the best bit was the Hollywood sign- its just full of tacky shops and theres nothing to do really!!
On our second day we took a hostel trip to Universal Studios- was the best bit about LA!We saw Shrek 4D, water world and of course the studio tour where we had to be quiet because they were filming Desperate Housewives!!!!oooo!!We had our last meal in Hard Rock Cafe and went back to the hostel for some sleep.
On our last day in LA we went to the Tar Pits- quite impressive and then we went to the LA Farmers Market.
We arent really big fans of LA- you dont get any real feelings about the place- its a bit dull and like our friend said- another version of Skegness which we were really surprised about! Bring on Fiji...........
