Bob and Nige-The World Tour 2006! (Fi & Jen)
Hey kids!
well, this is going to ber massive-so prepare yourselves!!
So after arriving ion coffs we enrolled on a rescue dive course and passes with flying colours-in the meantime we were given free accomodation in return for painting a massive mural on the hostel corridoor-needless to say our artistic genius had the owners shed a tear of happiness when all was revealed a couple of weeks later! so much so that they took uis diving at 5am with grey nurse sharks as a thankyou-what a treat! the dive was brilliant (although the same cannot be said about the 5am start) 8 people, one 30minute dinghy trip to the site, 1 gorgeous sunrise and 3 endangered sharks made it all worthwhile in the end though!
so after a couple of job offers and some begging for us to stay (i kid you not!) we left Coffs and headed up the coast to Byron Bay wiht our new manslave Ned! the three of us checked in and hit the beach for a wave analysis (not good) but the area was pretty nice so that more than made up for the lack of surf available. a few days in Byron, a wild night out a cheeky monkeys nightclub and a couple of hundred dollars later we embarked on the annual event of mardi grass (a cannabis festival) in nearby Nimbin-a real eye opener and hippy paradise, you could actually smell the weed on the bus before we arrived. After a day of new age magic, hippy stalls, great food, music and other things we got back on the bus happier than when we arrived. Needless to say some people had taken the liberalisation festival a bit too much and passed out, much to the amusement of the bus driver who said it would be a great reminder and another great story for his annual archive. nice.
So we kissed Ned goodbye on friday (after he had wrote us a song!!-can you believe it-it is sure to be a number one someday!!) and headed up the coast to surfers paradise-which was not a paradise at all but a vile, built up charver paradise for party goers of 15-65. not the best, we decided to give it a go though and booked onto the backpackers night out. The girls on reception put a load of fitties into our room and when we went down to check in for another night they were dancing around saying how lucky we were that they had blessed us with such fitness!!-cheers loves-it was about time! luckily the guys were also a bit of a bunch of jokers-so this went down a treat for the night out-however the hangover the next day forced us into submission and another attempt to give up the grogg for a month. So a sickness and headache filled 4 hour bus journey up the coast saw us arrive in Noosa-which by the way is absoltely gorgeous and just what we needed to escape the alcohol fused hedonism of the east coast-we hit the jackpot (as we so often seem to do- we shoud SO start playing the lottery) and have found ourselves in a 5 star villa in the outback of Noosa, with sunsets over the lakes, horse riding along the deserted beaches and wild tame kangeroos living right outside our door! they are adorable and most have joeys in their pouches! We were loving it! so we are going to stay here a week to chillout-we have also just got 2 (quite fit) canadians moving into the room-so this is another real bonus!
anyways enough boasting,
smiles from miles
