Bob and Nige-The World Tour 2006! (Fi & Jen)
Hi kids!
Having arrived in Melborne, we manage to check ourselves into the hostel from hell-a vile shabby cess pit full of equally vile specimins-so much for the ozzie fitness! so quickly as daylight crept into the 10 man dorm we hurridly grabbed our belongings and fled to the nicest hostel in the city-with its own private cinema-what a treat.
Met up with Kate and Pete (Fi's mates from uni) which was a real treat for all.
Following a wild night out we did the grand tour of ramsay street. I had been looking forward to the trip all week. things didnt get off to a great start! - there we were waiting to be picked up in the neighbours tour bus when the penguin island bus pulled up instead.you can imagine our dissapointment and anger - pete especially took it to heart and gave the tour leader a piece of his mind. the day was not looking good - rating 1 out of 10. things quickly picked up when the neighbours theme tune began, even followed by one good reason, (the background music for all episodes). However things began to steadily slide downhill when we stopped outside a random primary schoo.l the tour leader grabbed a erinsborough highschool sign from the back of the bus and fixed it to a fence! we could not believe it - it was not even the right school. Things hit an all time low as we took a 20 minute stop to stalk any potential actors driving out of the studios. No one was seen!surprise surprise.
we were shown the rooftops of the coffee shop etc, and the roof of a garage, a nightclub and the supermarket lynn scully shoplifted from!
the trip redeemed itself, however, in the very late stages when we arrived on ramsay street itself. We spent about half an hour riding the street sign, posing on drive ways, stealing limes to sell later on e-bay and playing leap frog!
The day was all together a hit - mainly for comedy value - and is definately a must for anyone visiting Oz!
Anyway enough about neighbours! we are now in sydney after a 15 hour drive on the bus from hell 2. Today we went to Bondi and are seriously unimpressed by the lack of talent. The weather is a little better at 24c but certainly not the tropical climates we are used to.
Manslave better have packed his thermals!!
we are now staying in the red light district - manslave will be loving it. there are 7 strip clubs, 8 adult shops and massage parlours and peep shows galore. enough to keep him entertained for a few days at least. Needless to say we will be sticking to the local pubs!
New favourite phrase, courtesy of kate and Pete " build a bridge and get over it"
