Greetings All,
As you can see we have moved once again to Phuket Town. To say this isn't the most galmerous plce to visit is an understatement but we came here as we thought it would be easier to visit the Cinema. As it turns out. we could have stayed where we were and got a taxi but we are here now and have decided to stay to keep us away from the shops and markets and all the nice restaurants that Patong offered as we are spending too much money (No change there then).
We went to watch Bond last night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cinema was very good and the film was excellent. I was disappointed with the opening credits as I was expecting the usual exposive beginning but it was very subdued but after watching the film you kind of realise why.
This is a much rawer bond movie. As it is the First book, our hero is only just starting on his quest as the best agent in the world, so he is a little rough around the edges, not the honed killer that we are all used to.
Daniel Craig is excellent as this character and delivers as well as he did in Layer Cake. The Free Jumping scene at the beginning is amazing and should have been the opening credits and the movie continues at this speed throughout.
I won't give too much away but Amanda and I loved the film and would even contemplate seeing it again. We highly recommend it!
We are heading off to Phi Phi Island on Sunday and hope to find our idillic fantasy location there so we can relax and stop spending money, because right now, we are still holding on to the Western way of life and need to head out for our adventures.
We havent really met anyone here yet as we haven't stayed anywhere long enough but we did have a laugh last night in the hotel. The 'Captains Bar' had a karaoke session going on with only a few Thai people but we joined in and they thoroughly enjoyed having us singing along with them. We chatted and laughed and had a good night. Afterwards, we were handed a cd by the compare saying that he had recorded us singing. Oh No! This is worse than the DVD in Vegas. Be warned!
Anyway, The sun is still shining, it is still very warm and we are looking forward to the rest of our trip! Hope everyone is fine at home and thanks for the messages.
Haven't been able to upload many of our own photos as yet because I haven't had WIFI since bangkok. May be a while too.
Ciao
