Today was extremely mellow. After breakfast (omelette and toast) we all headed off to yoga from 9-1230. The yoga session was pretty strenuous but relaxing at the same time--it was held in an outdoor patio, and it was raining so it the sound of rain on the roof was relaxing. The teacher was very nice, and had sporadic bouts of giggling and he insisted we smile during our stretches even when our muscles are screaming haha. I wasn't very into the yoga class though, because I was pretty tired due to jet lag and not enough sleep. After lunch at a warang (restaurant) we had the afternoon off. I decided to use my time from 1-430 relaxing at the homestay. I then got ready, and we headed off to Ubud's palace to meet the prince of Bali. I was surprised how down to earth he was--he insisted we tell him all our names (there's 40 of us) and he told us stories how he used to clean toilets for a job while studying abroad in Switzerland. It was a pretty cool experience meeting royalty, and we had a good buffet style dinner there too. After dinner, a dance performance was set in the palace's courtyard. It was cool, but all of us had a hard time paying attention and I even dozed off mid-performance. I think the dances told stories, as there were some weird looking creatures which i assume are part of bali's folklore, but I do not know the background of them yet. I am going to bed early tonight, as I am pretty exhausted from a busy week.

Auntie Lissa Love the photos...it all looks so beautiful viewing from Alameda where the temp is probably low 60s and little humidity. I'm not very fond of yoga either...it's more strenuous than one thinks. How does one become a prince in Bali; born into the chain of command? Get your rest and drink plenty of fluids with some daily dosing of gatorade or some electrolyte replacement fluid.Take good care, enjoy your adventure and try to stay awake kiddo!!!! I love you. xxoo
Aunt Shari Your days are so filled with adventure! Now you can say you've met a prince ! Have Fun!
