Its the weekend at last and that means a half day on friday, abig party at base tonight and saturday spent lazing on the beach, reading and snorkling then movies and popcorn in the evening... fantastic
It's been a bit of a mad week, the storms that plagued us last week didnt ease till yesterday so the only diving has been inside the lagoon. Diving at 3m requires a special set of skills! But it has been a great way to get on with the coral spotting. I'm feeling pretty confident now.
Managed to get out for a night dive on Wednesday, full moon made it quite magical, but unfortunatly that's when the compressor packed in so we were the only group to make it out. The weather finally broke yesterday and we ventured out to the other side of the pass. Because this is the first expedition there are no sites, we're the first people to dive here so we're finding and naming our own. Jamie decided that yesterdays was "Jamies Jewels". A great site with a sandy bed at 18m and a reef crest at 8m. Almost all of the corals i've been studting could be found in a small area so it was great to see. Fish life wasn't be either, spotted morray eel, green morray and a couple of french angel fish.
it's a hard life
