We have been sticking top this itinerary pretty regularly and we decided to do the same today. It calls for a trip up the Bosphorus to the mouth of the Black Sea. Before that though we decided to go to the market again. We discovered a new section and I think Kat bought something. It's just fun to shop around. The place is also crawling with cheap eats. After lunch we went for the ferry on the trip. The trip was quite pretty with many photo ops. Once we arrived in Asia, we were promptly greated by the "salesmen" peddling their fish sandwiches. We decided to hold off until we reached the Ottoman Fortress at the top of the hill. The trip up wasn't fun but the view at the top was excellent. We also climbed to the middle section where no one had been before! I guess those beer bottles were from the Ottomans. After going back down we decided to stop for some food and ice cream. Europeans LOVE ice cream. Every place so far has had some variation and no matter what the ice cream business in each local is thriving. We also ran into a gentleman who asked us where we were from and when we said America the first person that came to his mind was Chuck Norris. Its good to know Chuck is appreciated.
So we spent 2 hours in Asia but at least we can say we have been. Once we got back on the boat the trip back seemed a little long mainly because we had to go back to Europe . We decided to go back to the hostel to chill and then our "party" turned into a crowd and we ended up going to Taksim again. Dale and I were pretty bushwacked by then and were to high on the experience I don't think, but it is still fun to rub elbows with the locals as much as possible.
We had to take a taxi back, but thankfully taxi's have been relatively affordable and reliable. Tomorrow we will visit Topeki Palace that houses many jewels and artifacts from the Turkish Sultans.
