hiya guys,
We were meant to go sea kayaking yesterday but we woke up about 8.30 with a little bit of a hangover so we told mr banana that Will was really ill and could we go the next day(thats today the 26th). He was fine about this so here we are just returning from our ocean adventure... After heading back to our beds yesterday morning, we finally awoke from our pit around 2.30ish and built up enough energy to get a lift down to the beach and get a mac Donalds on the way(sooo nice). After letting that settle for about 2 hours it was time for the big match England vs Thailand aranged with Mr kio from the night before.. it turned out to be more Europe vs thailand with the English trio running the show. I opened the scorring with a cracking goal, before setting up two for Mr moore to get his name on the score sheet. The final score turned out to be England 4 Thailand 3. That night we had a few celibratory drinks in the bar before heading for an early night. (well 1 o,clock).
As I said earlier we have just returned from our kayaking adventure, we got up this morning around 8 oclock and headed to the reception for a bit of breakfast before the long day ahead. We arrived at the lake at 9o'clock and after a brief safty talk (and it was brief and couldnt understand much of it) we headed out. Dave, Will and I were the only ones in single kayaks every one else was in twos and threes. We thought this was great for the first 10 minutes before our arms started to acke.. as we paddled past the mountains monkeys started to come down to the kayaks via the cliff face, So the guide past around peices of melon to throw to them (our in are case at them. lol.). After sailing down a few channels and paddling round a few lagoons (i make it sound easy it was bloody hard work) it was time to row back for some lunch. This is when it got interesting well for me and a few couples at least. On our way back we had to pass down the water ways in single order because it was very narrow, most of the group had stormed off ahead but i got trapped behined a couple who got stuck on a rock and by the time we managed to get them off, we couldnt see the rest of the group. So we paddled on for a while and a few strokes later we came to a junction. A German couple took charge and decided to go straight on so we did. After rowing hectickley to catch the rest of the pack we realised this must have been the wrong way, but we could see land in front of us so we decided to go on and thankfully it turned out to be not far from the place we started. Ten mins later the rest of the group arived and said that they had gone left to see another lagoon.(after they had stopped giggling).
After visiting a national park for a couple of hours we headed back to the resort for a bit of relaxation..
The next couple of days were quite quiet for me because not only was I nackered from the kayaking but I had also come down with a throat infection. So the next night, while the boys were down the luna bar chirpsing up a couple of girls(mainlly thai) I was back at the resort watching hot shots in the bar before heading back to the hut for a bit of a rest( untill they woke me up). Dave told me that roomy had left him for dead in the club cos he was getting chased by a thai girl, while Will was walking a "average lookin australian girl, who liked her food" in Daves words, back to her hotel.
The following day we headed of down to the beach for a couple of hours before heading to the Irish bar to watch the mighty Blades clean the floor with a small club called chelsea. hundreds of red and white wizzards were in the pub(or thats what I Imagened, cos everyone else was waiting for the man utd match). Anyway in the end we were narrowly beaten, but it was the blades who could walk of the pitch with there heads held hight, exsept for danny webber and paddy kenny, what a shocker it went straight down the middle... I should have said the next day we were making the 5 hour journey to Phuket so we had decided that after the football we would call it a night, oh yeah, it was half two when we finally got back. But to be fair it was a great night, on the way back Mr Kio (one of the Banana men) invited us to a birthday celibration at a place called the hippy bar, so of we went. Most of the resort had turned out including Mr Eck who was like the thai 50 cent so we re-named him 50 baht or Mike Grassby for the Sheffield boys lol. The party was awsome even though i was getting funny looks cos i was still on the water (antibiotics for the throat). It had good english/american muisic and a wicked fire show, with men juggeling fire balls and eating them, ouch.
The next day it was time to say our goodbyes to the family who had treated us really well and head of in the back of a mini bus to Phuket......
