LA baby! Flight: So finally the day came that I left New Zealand and came to America, the plane was very nice, a new one, we were actually the first people to fly on it, yay. I was seated by a lady from America who talked to me often but wasnt too bad. I didnt really like the food which was a shame but they had good movies, I watched megamind and most of charlie st cloud, along with totally spies and afew other programmes. when the flight was finally over and we arrived in LA we went through customs and to the hotel to get ready for the day ahead.

DAY 1: so the day started off not long after we arrived, first we went to Santa Monica to do some shopping and sightseeing, I saw amazing shops like Bloomingdales, Louis Vuitton, and Micheal Kors, and went shopping in shops such as H&M, The gap and forever 21, I brought my first purchase at forever 21 a very cheap jacket, then went to a candy shop along with afew others, and also stopped to take photos outside hooters. soon after we left the shopping area and headed to Santa Monica peir an amazing beach, and looked at some very massive expensive houses, not long after we took a 20minute drive to Venice beach where we stopped for mexican for dinner , and looked at afew shops and places where movie sets were being set up. very cool and pretty. then we headed back to the hotel, day 1 over.

DAY 2: The next day we woke up early for an american breakfast and then got ready for the day, DISNEYLAND. finally my dream came true and I was finally 14 years later at disneyland again. It was amazing and I had so much fun. We first went to California adventure and went on a very large roller coaster, tower off terror, and flight swing among other rides and places, before heading to the actual disneyland. I was constantly taking photos and ended up with over 200 of disneyland. We went to many places there, and lots of rides, I even got a photo with Minnie which was very cool. Later after an exhausting day, at about 5 we headed to the bus with our shopping bags I brought $70 US worth of stuff, T-shirt, postcards, lollies, etc etc. We had an hour at the hotel before we left again for rotary dinner with the LA club, the food was really nice and they had cookies with dinner!! Universal/hollywood So our 3rd day in LA we spent at Universal studios and in Hollywood, we woke up in the morning, had a quick breakfast at the hotel then headed off to Universal studios, we arrived around 10ish and left at 3ish, We went on many rides including the simpsons, jurassic park and the mummy, we also whatched 4D movies and went on the studio tour which was really cool, we got to see where the movies are made, sets, special effects and lots more. it was amazing, after 3 we all loaded back in the bus and headed for hoolywood, when we arrived we had an hour for shopping and taking photos, and we even spotted Paris Hilton which was pretty cool, not long after we went to Beverly hills which I thought was amazing, the shopping and buildings! wow! everything was so flash, defently would have to be rich to live or shop there, but it was really cool to see. and then our last day in LA was over, we all piled back to tour hotel rooms to get ready for our flights the next day!

LA was amazing, and 3 days I hope to never foget, I made many good friendships and had amazing expreiences. :) First week/ weekend Wow I can't believe I have been here almost 2 weeks, and have been to school a week allready, I miss home and my family alot but am loving it here. School has been good, I was extremely nervous at first, but the first day didnt go too bad, unfortunately I couldnt get all my subjects I chose but its not too bad, and I can change them for next semester. School is alot different to New Zealand and I find it weird to say I miss parts of my old school but its cool being at an American high school, its pretty much just like the movies. Food is good here, well most of it but I have been trying not too eat too bad lately so there is still so much to try, I havent tried so much of the candy etc so I'll just try it throughout the year. Shopping is also really cool here, the big department stores especially and mostly lots of clothing etc are cheaper than New Zealand which is good. So for my first weekend in Colorado I went Skiing with the Rotary group and met all the other exchange students, it was my second time skiing so I had lots of fun, there was also a pool, spa, saunas for us to use after a day full of skiing, and at night we stayed with families who lived up in the mountain, My family was really nice and hope to visit them again, I gave them pinapple lumps and they enjoyed them mostly. I thought it was so amazing up the mountain I want to stay there sometime, reminded me of a little christmas town, so beautiful. We also saw an ice sculpture competition which was cool, the scuptures were so well done. Today was my first day of the second week and it snowed for the first time for me, I love the snow its so pretty, and we have a snow day tomorrow, so yay sleep in :)
