Well, this trip started in about 1964 !!!!! When my master, ( and I use that phrase loosely, it's not one I would choose, but it seems to keep him happy !! ) went to the pictures.
Just as a bit of background, my name is Billie (yes, Billie, although I am a girl, another idea of my masters, so you can see what I have to deal with ! ) and as you will be able to see, I am pretty good looking Springer Spaniel.
I am off traveling aroung Europe with Sally & Wayne ( well, someone has to feed me and clean up my pooh !). Apparently, we have 3 months supply of dog food, a couple of tennis balls and my bed in the campervan, so all is well in this camp as far I can see.

Anyway, back to the story, he was about 5 years old at the time and was taken to the Hippodrome cinema with his girlfriend (yes at 5 !! ) and the rest of her family. If you ask me, he sounds like a bit of a tart, surely lego and action man should have been higher on his radar at that age..

He went to see "Summer Holiday" with Cliff Richards and from what I have overheard,that film changed his life forever.

It obviously was the innocence of being 5 years old ( and maybe a certain level of stupidity ! ) that led him to believe that it was not only possible, but completely normal to buy an old bus, get all your mates to help do it up and then go off travelling around Europe.

O.K. it has taken nearly 50 years until we have eventually got a campervan and are off on our European travels (following in Cliff's footprints ! ), but the other two have travelled extensively prior to this, mainly throughout Asia backpacking.
So, here we are in the camper embarking on day one of what will be about a three month trip, travelling down .through France, heading for the quite beaches of Spain and Portugal in search for sunshine, beautiful beaches, good surf, and lots of nice wine, beer and food...... Oh and of course TENNIS BALLS !!
