Sydney, New South Wales
Said goodbye to Mummy and Daddy winter at Manchester and we were off. It was to be an exciting flight, as 10 hours in, a series of bad turbulence left Leah clutching the seat in front and desperately watching the planes progress on the world map. Luckily, as usual Bill demonstrated his compassionate, caring, empathetic and sensitive nature, managing to calm her down (with the use of industrial strength sedatives).
Having arrived in Dubai in the morning and feeling absolutely no inclination to stay, we aborted the hotel and immediately jumped on the first flight to Sydney. Arrived the next morning to find Jemima waiting, to take us to Mary Hetherton's house. She had loyally got up at 6am after a big night out, she and Billy didn't even recognise each other- it had been 2 and a half years since they'd last met face to face! What a sister!
After a full days sleep it was time to party- Leah decided the best way to cure jetlag was a night out in Sydney with Jems crew. Bill and Leah were introduced to the phonomenen that is 'bottle' shops, for the BYO curry house. Can't remember much that night, but we were introduced to the illustrious 'Ed Sutcliffe', later to become known as the Grimsby Ripper.
